It was a pleasure to meet you during our visit to Lagen Island Resort last week. The five days and four nights we spent at Lagen were memorable, and my family and I very much enjoyed our stay and the ambiance of the resort.

One of the best things about our visit was the warm hospitality and courtesy of your resort staff. My family and I have vacationed at several resorts throughout Asia and cannot recall another location where the reception throughout our stay was so consistently extraordinary and impressive. Much of the credit for this goes to Marlon, our marine activities coordinator, who exemplified the highest standards of hospitality, information, and assistance every hour of every day.

Several others contributed to our very positive experience at Lagen, and I would like you to know how much we appreciated their efforts as well. Airport concierges Harry and Arnel were especially welcoming during our arrival and departure. Even though we did not dive or windsurf during our stay, Arle and Sonny Boy were always willing to offer useful information for our marine activities. Emily, the Guest Activities Coordinator, is a true professional who was particularly helpful in arranging our schedule. Chef Ed and the entire restaurant staff, especially Michael, Jinny, Marilou, and Nimfa, were truly accommodating to our young children and always treated them like royalty -- even when they didn't deserve it! Marine staff Wilvin, Bong, and Edgar helped us throughout our stay and are heroes to our children for their special attention to them during our visit. And security escort Gerald always made us feel secure with his quiet presence.

Although other resorts offer strong individual employees, they are often the exception and not the rule. The Lagen Resort is distinguished precisely because its entire staff is so distinguished, so that the exception elsewhere has become the rule at Lagen. We look forward to a return visit soon.

Julie and I recently stayed the weekend at El Nido – Lagen Resort. Not only did we have a great time your management discovered it was Julie’s Birthday on that Saturday. So we were ushered to a private dining space on the shore and had the undivided attention of our own waiter! – Everything provided with the compliments of your kind selves. I asked my colleague Patricia Celis at Northwest Airlines to allow me the chance to give you my feedback directly on our recent experience at your resorts in El Nido. I can sum up our experience in basically one word...fantastic! I want to say that I was a bit hesitant in proceeding with our plans to try your El Nido Resorts because of the inclusive package price per day, but I can honestly say after experiencing the resorts facilities, food and service, it is a great value for the money.

My wife and I found the staff to be extremely attentive and focused on providing the best vacationing experience possible. The service standard was consistent from the time we arrived at El Nido Airport to the time we left. I appreciated the constant attention and help of the events coordinator, Grace, and the overall quality of the guides provided for the specific activities was good. I was particularly pleased with the guide we had for our snorkeling outing at Miniloc on Sunday. He really spent the time introducing us to some of the true wonders of the reef and native sea life. (unfortunately I don't remember his name!)

I also want to comment on the facilities themselves. We found the Water Cottage to be spacious and comfortable...and you can't possibly find a better view from the lanai! The pool and surrounding area was pleasant, with plenty of lounging chairs and staff. I specifically would like to commend the poolside staff person, Jack, who was always available, and actually asked if I could provide any helpful feedback on how to improve the quality of their service. Very commendable.

The quality and variety of the food at Lagen was great. We especially like the Mongolian style grill with the variety of ingredients and sauces. Very tasty. The service was also attentive, and this was especially true of one of the service providers, Johnny, who was always at our table with a smile. I must however thank you and the El Nido staff for the complete surprise of the private luncheon on our last day at the resort. This private lunch on a secluded (Cove 4) beach was actually living out of a dream that I have had most of my adult life! When the speed boat approached the beach and we realized the table, chairs, umbrella, wait staff and food/drink was all set up for us...well all I can say is that we were speechless. It was an unsurpassed experience for both of us.

I want to thank you personally for the extra attention and service you and the El Nido staff gave to my wife Laura and I, but I have to say that as I observed how your staff worked with all of the guests at your resorts...it was evident that the same aspiration for providing quality, service and attention is afforded each and everyone of your guests. My wife Laura was especially "tickled" by the send-off from the resort when we departed. The staff continued waving goodbye until we could no longer make out the figures standing on the pier!

I can honestly say that our experience at El Nido will be truly one of those vacations that will live in our memories far into the future. We hope to visit the islands and resort again, and until then...I wish you and the El Nido team all the best for business in the future. I see no reason why El Nido can't be promoted more in North America and the USA (where I come from), but I do however find myself in a bit of a dilemma when it comes to spreading the word about the El Nido Resorts...for selfish motives I want to keep this place a "best kept secret" so it remains unique, unspoiled and ready to be enjoyed again.
